We will publish another post later in January talking about our 2016 roadmap, but for now I wanted to share the first good news: Piwigo 2.8 is coming!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Piwigo 2.8 has entered the &#8220;release candidate&#8221; period. It means we have implemented several features and we need help from the Piwigo community to test it. The more tests we have, the more stable Piwigo 2.8 will be.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s new in Piwigo 2.8 compared to Piwigo 2.7?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>automatic authentication from notification emails<\/li>\n<li>orphan photos are more obvious and easy to delete<\/li>\n<li>ability to notify users on an album<\/li>\n<li>upload progress shown in favicon<\/li>\n<li>watermark can be repeated on several lines<\/li>\n<li>improvements on user manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_490\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-490\" class=\"size-full wp-image-490\" src=\"http:\/\/piwigo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/piwigo-2.8-upload-progress-favicon.png\" alt=\"During web upload, the favicon gets animated and shows you the current state.
